Anthropic says its daily merges went from about 2,500 to over 30,000 in a few months because Claude writes much of the code, turning git into the bottleneck. In five months it built Scion, a version control system designed for always-online agents. It is an early look at which workflows stop scaling once agents write the code.
Clef is Cloudflare’s family of decision models, which return schema-constrained answers instead of free text. The new Clef-omni takes text, images, audio and video in a single call, Clef-flash gets cheaper in exchange for a smaller hosted context, and Clef responds up to twice as fast. Relevant for classifying or moderating content from Workers.
Cloudflare is bringing in the Deno team to simplify self-hosting Workers and Durable Objects, so the same building blocks can run outside its network. For developers deploying JavaScript at the edge, it points to less dependence on a single provider.
